Description
Have you ever visited the home of your ancestor?
Finding it is like discovering a forgotten world. Often they are tucked away in the forest. Only an opening remains. Perhaps a pile of rocks is left from a fireplace.
And sometimes you find a cottage. The actual house where your ancestor was born, grew up and lived their life.
You get to peak into the window and open the door. What will you find?
Most of our ancestors lived hard lives. Illness was detrimental and scarcity was the norm. Even so, we can find traces of beauty. Like the roses growing in the ruins of a settlement, reminding us that there was room for more than survival.
The records are full of these traces. There are signs of families and friends pulling together and helping each other.
You can find them, if you want. The documents from births, moves, marriages, and much more.
You get to discover everything in the records. Where will you go?
This could be the start of getting to know your Swedish ancestor. It could be the start of your journey to Sweden.
You decide.

The process
You submit your questions on the website, along with any documents needed.
- Fill out the form.
- Add your files.
- Press Submit.
- Select a time slot in the calendar.

What’s in your report
This is in each response:

Sometimes, this is in your report
Your report is adjusted to your question. At least one of your reports will have any of these:
- A custom map of the area you’re researching.

- Tips on sources and record collections.
- Help with a strategy for reaching your goal.

- The guides are available at purchase.
What others are saying about Find a Swede
"In each session I got an exact and complete answer to my question. It was always clearly documented when an answer was given - and documented also which records were examined and found not to be productive. I was very pleased and impressed with this service."
