Find a Swede was so helpful! I had come to a brick wall with my great, great grandfather in Sweden. Find a Swede was able to find him, and find both his parents.
I was given a report on their lives from birth to death, complete with translations and copies of all the records. It really brought them alive to me. It also led to more discoveries on that side of the family too. I never would have been able to do it on my own.
I will definitely use Find a Swede again in the future and recommend them to anyone researching their Swedish ancestors.

Client review
We had gone as far back in our family tree as my amateur skills would allow as we do not speak or read Swedish. We wanted to know more about our ancestor who had emigrated from Sweden to the US in 1887.
Annika was a great communicator as the project progressed and the final report was well researched and organized. We were thrilled to get so much information about our ancestor and his life (family, work, travels, etc.). It was shared in a way that we could in turn download and print and/or share with others in the family which we appreciated! Can’t thank her enough for working with us on this valuable project!
We look forward to working with Annika on other projects as we explore our Swedish lineage. I recommend her to anyone needing professional assistance to discover their Swedish roots.

Hej!
Annika here. I’m the owner of Find a Swede. My home is a stone’s throw from the old port of Gothenburg in the south of Sweden. This is where 80% of Swedish migrants left Sweden in the nineteenth century. The old Sweden is evident in everything here and I want to share that with you.
It doesn’t matter if you have a brick wall, or just found out about your Swedish ancestry. You deserve to know the truth about your family history. That’s why I give you more than a list of names and dates. So that you can get to know your Swedish ancestor.

Common Questions
Do you have any shorter and, well, cheaper alternatives?
If it feels like too much money to spend right now, I get it. And I don’t want you to overextend your means to work with me.
But genealogy research cannot be rushed. In particularly when it includes translations of each record entry used and commentary to bridge the cultural gap between today and 19th century Sweden.
Professional research starts with an analysis of the submitted material and the problem at hand. As genealogists we then search our way through incomplete and inaccurate records, weighing the evidence and arguing for our conclusions. This way, you can trust that what you learn about your ancestor is what actually happened. All of it is handed to you in a report that tells the story of your heritage.
When can I expect my research to be done?
The time to research varies due to previous commitments and the possible need to be order additional resources. The time of completion of the Origin Path is about one month, from the day it is started.
How is the research delivered?
When you become a client of Find a Swede, you are assigned a private Dropbox folder. You can access it on the web or through your account on the site. This is where all of your documents are stored.
You will receive your genealogy report produced using professional desktop publishing software. It includes copies of the records and other images as agreed upon. All images in the report are also delivered as standalone files.
To adhere to the EU privacy regulation GDPR, we remove your folder one year after the research is completed.
