What you can translate
I translate printed and handwritten Swedish texts related to family history into English. Handwritten documents are generally transcribed. You receive both the transcription and the translation.
Genealogy records
The record entry is processed in its entirety. This is to ensure that you get all the information. The reason is that we can’t always predict which part of the record will be helpful. And if what you’re looking for isn’t there, you will know.
Larger documents
Some documents are written in a complex and verbous style. When suitable, select passages can be summarized and will not be transcribed. This will be included in our agreement.
Pricing
Translation for Swedish genealogy starts at two hours and is charged per fifteen minutes. Two or more documents can be combined into one project. The hourly rate is 660 SEK.
How it works
- Submit your request with all details below to receive a proposal. Please include the source for any genealogy records used (record type, parish, year). Ten files under 50 MB each can be submitted.
- A contract is signed online and the estimated cost is paid.
- When your translation is ready, it’s delivered as a PDF in a private Dropbox folder to which you have access for one year. Any unused time is reimbursed.
